My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to the family of the legendary Robin Williams (1951-2014) as they cope with their loss. It is a shame that his life of 63 years ended the way it did and when he did because he was an incredibly talented actor and comedian. My favourite works that Robin left behind include the sitcom Mork & Mindy and the movies Popeye and Mrs. Doubtfire. May you rest in peace, Robin.
This brings us to the topic of depression, with which Robin and millions of others (including myself) have struggled. Depression is a serious problem. Its symptoms include loss of interest in hobbies, excessive sleep, and suicidal thoughts. You do not have to continue to suffer because there are people whom you can talk to as well as resources to help you cope with and manage your depression.
If you or someone you love is dealing with depression, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 today. All calls are free and confidential. Also, please honour the memory of Robin Williams by sharing this number. By doing so, you can and will make a difference.
