What’s up, everyone? I am sure that you were as shocked as I was to learn of the recent passing of Chester Bennington, who was the lead singer of Linkin Park, and the way in which this sad event happened. Suicide is never the answer to your problems. It has already claimed the lives of a number of other legendary musicians (besides Chester) and music moguls, including Beatles manager Brian Epstein, Nirvana axeman Kurt Cobain, INXS frontman Michael Hutchence, and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave. These artists were consumed by their personal demons, but you do not have to let it happen to you because there is help out there. Here are a couple of resources:
Suicide Prevention Hotline — 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)
Crisis Text Line — Text HELLO to 741741, or message at facebook.com/crisistextline.
Chester’s family and the surviving members of Linkin Park are in my thoughts, and they have my condolences. Thank you, Chester, for lending your wailing tenor voice to some of the best music recorded these past almost two decades.
Love, peace, and rock ‘n roll,
